  • Serving as an Election Judge
    • Complete the City of Mantorville 2024 Election Judge Application.
    • Election Judges are needed to help administer elections, but we may not be able to place every Judge who applies. You will be notified by email if you are selected to work.
    • Election Judges open and close polls on Election Day, help voters who need assistance, ensure only qualified voters are permitted to vote, and certify election results for the precinct.
    • Election Judges are paid $12.00 per hour; Head Judges are paid $12.50 per hour, including all training.
    • To serve as an Election Judge; you must be:
      • At least 18 years old (or 16-17 years old serving as a Student Election Judge Trainee)
      • Minnesota resident for at least 20 days
      • Citizen of the United States (identification may be required)
      • Able to read, write and speak the English language
      • Eligible to vote and reside in Minnesota
      • Appointed by the City Clerk
      • Able to attend training sessions (2-3 hours every 2 years)
    • To serve as an Election Judge, you cannot be:
      • Related to another Election Judge in the same precinct and work at the same time
      • A candidate’s spouse, parent, step-parent, child, step-child, brother or sister, or live in the same household as a candidate
      • A candidate for the election in which you are serving

    • Desired Qualifications:
      • Ability to communicate clearly
      • Ability to remain impartial and courteous
      • Detail-oriented
      • General math skills
      • Fluency in second language is helpful
      • Comfortable with serving a diverse population

    • Affidavit of Candidacy
    • Search Candidate Filings with the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Office.
      For example, to search for candidates filing for offices in the City of Mantorville, use the down arrows to select “City/Township,” “Dodge,” and “Mantorville” and click the Search button.
